Women in STEM & Gender Balance by President Rumina Velshi (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission)

In 2019, the CNSC launched "a Women in STEM (WISTEM) initiative to support women in STEM careers at the CNSC and elsewhere, and to raise awareness of STEM in collaboration with interested partners like government, industry and academia."

Through outreach and professional development activities, research, partnerships, thought leadership and online initiatives, we work with industry and academia to educate on the value of diversity for innovation, to inspire women to thrive and to celebrate the contributions of women in science and engineering.
