Tanya Crevier

Tanya's Biography

Tanya Crevier is a certified Information Technology (IT) Security Technician working for Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Her passion for the IT world started at a young age and compelled her to complete a college degree in Computer Science at the CEGEP de l’Outaouais in 2005. Starting from the ground up, she worked as a student in the IT department of the Privy Council Office. She soon became a full time IT Service Desk Technician, where she gained invaluable experience and provided top-notch IT services. Tanya moved on to the CRTC as a Security technician in 2014, but she wasn’t done concurring the IT world just yet. She became IT Security Architect in 2016 and is now an IT technical lead for the whole corporation. Her mission is to protect the network infrastructure and provide support in all matters of IT security. Tanya is also currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Administration (BAdmin) degree program with Athabasca University to prepare for the next step in her career.

I get to touch so many aspects of IT security to be able to protect networks. My favorites are forensics, firewall management and network access control.

Applying for my current position and winning the competition. Also, winning awards for being part of the Voter Contact Registry implementation team.

I was lucky enough to have a mentor who helped me learn a lot. This made me able to further my career.
