Sarah's Biography

 

Sarah Chowdhury is currently working as a Senior Information Security Advisor in Rogers Communications. Her responsibilities include conducting detailed risk assessments that embed security best-practices into large scale programs. Sarah provides security risk assessments for internal business unit customers, support various business and information technology initiatives, and collaborates with stakeholders to reduce risks across her organization. She is customer-focused and service-oriented, and a competent team player who values collaboration and attention to detail.

Sarah is a strong advocate for equal opportunities for women in STEM and is passionate about building an inclusive work culture. Sarah is a steering committee member of Rogers Women’s Network that aims at showcasing and supporting women with a mandate to increase the representation of women across all levels at her organization.

It is important to try and create multiple mentoring relationships at the same time. Each of my mentors teach me something unique. I observe the leaders I have come across in my life very closely and learn from them. All of them have taught me qualities that I value and want to acquire, and a few qualities that may work for others but are not suitable for me. It is important to be genuine to one’s true self.

Dream, and be prepared to work twice as much as others to make it a reality. Know that failure at some point in life is inevitable, but that will essentially make you stronger.

Through outreach and professional development activities, research, partnerships, thought leadership and online initiatives, we work with industry and academia to educate on the value of diversity for innovation, to inspire women to thrive and to celebrate the contributions of women in science and engineering.
